NDI increases Epic’s Unreal Engine 5 capabilities for Extended and Augmented Reality for more creative freedom
NDI, the globally standardized video-over-IP technology, announces that its SDK plugin is now compatible with Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5. Available for download now!
As Unreal Engine 5 was released, we received requests for an NDI SDK plugin, allowing creatives to enhance video projects with UE5 and NDI. NDI and Epic have collaborated for over 5 years, enhancing value for users and fostering virtual storytelling.”
Tarif Sayed, President, and GM of NDI.
The NDI SDK allows UE5 systems to manage video streams over IP, supporting 4K resolution, unlimited frame rates, and 16 channels of floating-point audio. It also includes tools to implement video access and grouping, bi-directional metadata, IP commands, tally, and more.
With the improved integration of NDI into Unreal, creators unlock full IP support for both inputs & outputs of audio & video, even with an alpha channel. The SDK permits creators to develop royalty-free AR and VR, empowering teams of all sizes to innovate in visual content and experiences. Now, they can also leverage NDI’s revolutionary potential for sharing video-over-IP in the highest quality, with the lowest latency.
We’re thrilled for creators to use the new UE5 SDK plugin for groundbreaking real-time 3D content.
